  • Ferdos Maleki lives in Laguna Beach, but she was born in Iran and raised predominantly by her grandmother. Her grandmother turned her on to the intoxicating words of Hafez and Rumi; as a young child she brought those stories to life in her paintings. In her ongoing work, layered colors reveal the voice of an emerging abstractionist, portraying texture and tones that mimic the journey of nature’s wonderment. Her interpreted landscapes reveal an increasingly sophisticated sensibility, form a spiritualist stance, for the ways in which forms and space interact.
